What we can offer other members and organizations:

I am looking to partner with community organizations who work with low income families so that together we can get gently used kids bikes to kids who could really use them. I can collect and deliver bikes. If you are a community agency that has a program in place where the bikes can be used and/or donated to families please contact us. Or if you are a community group or school that would like to set up a program, I'd love to hear from you too - let's make it happen.

What we might need from other members and organizations:

Volunteers, Financing or Grants, Skills or Expertise, Equipment or Materials

Gently used bicycles in good working condition for kids under 12 (bikes with wheel sizes 12.5" to 26"), help with delivery and storage (costs or in-kind donations of a storage rental unit), bike mechanics who can run bicycle repair short workshop for kids; people who can run safety skills training sessions for kids; donations for new helmets, locks, bells, lights.

My first wheels! is a non-profit initiative to collect gently used bikes for donation to children living in low-income neighbourhoods in Toronto. We are dedicated to the idea that a used bike can have a direct impact on a child's freedom, self-esteem and mobility. A used bike can help get a child up on their own two wheels.

We are on a mission to collect gently used children's bikes and make them available to service agencies for donation to kids living in low-income neighbourhoods in Toronto.

We collect gently used, 'ride ready' children's bikes and make them available to service agencies for donation to kids living in low-income neighbourhoods in Toronto.

Through this initiative we strive to keep bikes out of landfills, promote healthy communities, and give youth a healthy focus.

If you have a used bike in good working condition that you'd like to donate please contact us!

Other ways you can get involved:

- donate towards a helmet voucher
- donate a new lock, bell, or lights
- donate storage space
- sponsor a delivery (approx $65 value)
- spread the word...send a link to myfirstwheels.ca to friends who may have a gently used bike
- search us on facebook and join as a fan
- send in your stories about your first bike for posting on our site
- recommend community based program contacts that we can partner with
- if you are certified to repair bikes or conduct cycling skills sessions, contact us about how you can volunteer
